Meg Olivia Barkman Memorial Fund

On October 1, 2002 Meg was born with a severly under developed brain.  It was a very difficult time for Kristie and I, but Meg proved to be a special daughter with a sweet smile and a pleasant personality.  On April 1, 2005 Meg passed away peacefully at our home in West Chester, Pa.  Kristie and I decided after Meg passed away that we would like to raise money for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Neurology Department.  In 2005 and 2006 we had Meggy's Memorial Golf Outing and we raised over $28,000 which we donated to CHOP.  With the donation we were able to have a plaque with Meg's name on the walls at CHOP.  That meant a lot to Kristie and I since we spent so much time down there, and they were so good to us in many ways.  In 2010, we realized how much we missed having the golf outing, so we decided to start it up again and make it an annual event.  In order to do the event this time I decided to create the Non Profit Corporation Meg Olivia Barkman Memorial Fund so I could handle the details on my own, and be up close and personal with the event and the planning.  I hope everyone can enjoy the outing this year, and many more years to come.
